This photograph taken from the forecastle of the Canadian cruiser, HMCS Ontario as she was leaving Trincomalee Harbour on the 31st August 1945, shows that HMS Ausonia had already replaced her Admiralty Intermediate Disruptive Pattern camouflage scheme with that of the peacetime overall light grey, (Mediterranean Light Grey) just two weeks after the Japanese surrender on the 15th August 1945.
